CHAMPIONSHIP LEAGUE RULES

Teams will play each other on a home and away basis. 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. When a team wins a match via a walk-over they will be awarded 3 points with a 0-0 score line allocated.

The team with the highest points will be deemed the league winners. The second place team will be promoted and the bottom two teams relegated (except in Division 4 where there is no relegation).

In the event of teams being level on points when deciding winners, promotion or relegation then goal difference or average will not take effect. Instead, a two-legged play-off game will determine the outcome of the above matters. Play-off games will be decided via 90min, extra-time and penalties if needed.

The reason for not using goal difference
Let's say Team A play Team B and win 5 -0. Five goals counting to their goal difference. Then further down the season Team B can not field a team against your team or withdraw from the league. Thus not being able to play you. The game will be awarded to you, 3 points and a 0-0 score line. Not allowing you to make up the 5 goals that say Team A scored against them earlier in the season.
