Our referees are a fundamental part of our league and as such have gained a great reputation amongst referees in the UK. Our referees section is monitored by Ted Gore who each season works wonders to make sure every game is covered by a properly qualified referee. Just think if your game does not have a referee what would happen. See the video on the right if you do not believe me. We make sure that our referees are respected and looked after throughout the season. It is also your responsibility to make sure the referee feels safe before, during and after games. Please remember while you may have a whole team to get your back a referee often turns up to games on his own! Also remember that we do not have linesman for many games in the league. This is just possible with the man power we have. So not all referees will spot every decision in particular offside ones. We have a great bunch of referees who give up their time for little financial reward in my opinion to make sure your game is covered by a proper official.
Match official fees...
Referees are paid £35 per game. Assistants are paid £20 per game. Match officials are paid in full before any kick-off. A game will not take place if you do not pay your referee beforehand. The home team is responsible for paying all match officials their full fee. The home team will then recover half the fee from the opposition. Please also make sure when paying him that you provide a "good" match ball for the game.

Jimmy Ince
Every week throughout the season club secretaries mark their referee's performance on the official match card. At the end of the season the referee averaging the highest marks will be the winner of the Evan's and O'Reilly Trophy. Last season Jimmy Ince, a long standing referee within the league was your chosen referee of the year based on the marks teams gave him.
